What to Expect During Your Discovery Flight

Your Discovery Flight with Freeflight Aviation is designed to be both educational and exciting. Here's a breakdown of what you'll experience:

• Ground instruction on basic flight principles
  
• Walk-around inspection of the aircraft
  
• Cockpit orientation and instrument familiarization
  
• Takeoff and climb with instructor guidance
  
• Hands-on flying experience, controlling the aircraft
  
• Basic maneuvers and flight controls practice
  
• A view of Medford, NJ, and the surrounding area

Compliance Statements (FAA-approved):

• This is a “Hands On” Flight Experience. You will be flying the aircraft from the Pilot Side Seat. The Flight Instructor will be seated in the Co-Pilot Seat managing the flight operations.
  
• Landing observation is NOT from the Co-Pilot Seat. It is from the Pilot’s Seat.
  
• This flight is conducted as a Discovery Flight Student’s First Training Flight. No passengers are allowed.

Details About Your Discovery Flight Package

Before you purchase a Discovery Flight, there are some things you should know:

• Discovery Flight packages expire one year from the date of purchase
  
• Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (the parent or guardian must give the flight school approval for a minor to take the Discovery Flight)
  
• Please bring a valid form of ID with you to the airport, along with your gift certificate (if pre-purchased)
  
• Maximum participant weight: 250 pounds
  
• This experience is weather-dependent
  
• At least seven days' notice is recommended for scheduling
  
• The Discovery Flight is considered an educational training experience intended for one person only — no guests or passengers
  
• Discovery Flight Certificates are non-refundable

After Purchasing Your Discovery Flight Package

Freeflight Aviation, a Part 61 Flight School, will send you a numbered Discovery Flight package certificate via email within 3–7 business days.

To schedule your flight:

Your certificate number must be provided when making a reservation.

We will ask for your weight, height, age, phone number, and email address to properly assign your aircraft and instructor.

On the Day of Your Flight

Wear comfortable clothing and sunglasses. No open-toe shoes. Remember to bring your Discovery Flight certificate and a valid ID.

Flights may be rescheduled due to weather, mechanical issues, or other safety considerations.

Refund Policy & Expiration

Refund requests are subject to processing fees and limited circumstances per our refund policy. Expired certificates may be redeemed with additional fees.
